![]() Chests and Cabinets are just used at the AIs own discretion of what they *think* should be done with it, depending on zoning etc. Ammo during sieges. The refuse stockpile is the general stockpile for refuse. I don t remember stockpile settings, so I don t know if that is possible.Īs far as I know, this is not possible. Dwarf Fortress. For exploits related to stockpiling, see Quantum stockpile. I have the decorate with shell order up because I'm drowning in pond turtle and mussel shells. Or does it work where they only decorate on items queued up at the same time (such as making a bunch of bone bolts for example). Just my two bits, but did you try putting the bolts in the chest. Like the title said, I thought the decorate with shell command will simply cause craft dwarves to find random items in my stock pile to decorate. But I am not sure if missing something because I SEE bones in pile, I. (I cannot try the default Archer uniform as I deleted it on this save) : r/dwarffortress panksea06 Stockpiling bone So stockpiling bone is a bit. ![]() Apparently other folks have been having issues with this too. Watch if they pick up ammo, if they don't delete the entire squad and do it again. create a separate barrel stockpile instead and link them to a still. Fresh make squad, pick a uniform with ranged, never change uniform. its best to not mix 'empty barrel/pot' inside a stockpile that can 'reserve' a barrel. setup a barracks zone around that ammo stockpile (green box with dwarf face by stockpile maker). Gotta be careful with wood since they're likely to never use it, and it's just marksdwarves. I have no idea why, but it's just my militia squad that seems to treat bolts like they either don't exist, or are forbidden items.Īgain, worth noting that this is all with a custom uniform. Sneep's tidbit is kinda the only way to deal with it though. The dwarfs have no problem hauling it around, but the squad uniform tab still displays ammo as red, which I assume means that item doesn't exist or is otherwise inaccessible. It was this problem that made me annex a stockpile, specifically for bolts, right into their barracks. Kitchens will automatically render the fat. Similarly if you have a tanner then the hides will be set to be tanned automatically. If you have a butchers workshop set up, the kills will be set to butcher automatically, you dont have to do anything with that. Their barracks has multiple chests (that are either empty or have plenty of space left) but nobody deigns to actually put bolts in there. As long as theres prey around, that dwarf will go and hunt them. IF that's the case, it is truly wonderful. Just plop a chest in your marksdwarves' barracks to be filled with ammo, and they'll grab it when they need it. (Evidently if you can't see it, you need to adjust your UI scaling until you can.) Seems to do all the same stuff the last one did, except. Originally posted by Percy Jackson:Military Tabīottom right, the sword icon.
